Atheism, Is It Reasonable?

Atheism has become a common belief in today’s society. But is believing that there is no God truly reasonable, or does it defy common sense? Many people assume that believing in a God defies common sense, and that there is absolutely no evidence to support the fact that there is a Creator. However, there is an easy method to prove God’s existence. When you look at a building, how can you know that there was a builder? You can’t see him, hear him, touch him, taste him, or smell him. How do you know that there really was a builder? The building is proof that a builder exists. When you look at creation, how can you know there is a Creator? You can’t see Him, hear Him, touch Him, taste Him, or smell Him.  Creation is proof of a Creator. That is just common sense. Now the statement, “There is no God”, is an absolute statement. To make this statement you must have absolute knowledge. But since no person has absolute knowledge, the statement is invalid. I will give you an example. If I were to say, “There is no gold in China” that would be an absolute statement. In order to make that statement, I would have to have absolute knowledge of China. Consequently, in order for someone to say, “There is no God”, they would require absolute knowledge of the universe. Since no one has absolute knowledge of the universe, the most that anyone can say is that they suppose there is no God. Therefore, no one is truly an atheist, just an agnostic. So, is atheism truly reasonable? No.  To learn more about why atheism is unreasonable check out Ray Comfort’s book, God Doesn’t Believe in Atheists by clicking this link..

  1. It’s amazing when astronomers will peer into the cosmos and think to themselves that all of this came from a big bang. I look into the night sky which declares openly for all to hear that God is and that he is an awesome Creator. Good analogy about the building. The first chapter of I Corinthians comes to mind whenever creation is a topic.

  2. The best answer is always God’s Word.

Psalm 14: 1 “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

The word “fool” seems kind of harsh to some but there’s some things I’m probably still foolish about. The Bible says that these atheistic folks have been blinded to the truth of the Gospel by the “god of this world”-the devil.

Atheism and secularism are religions in that God has been replaced by “the state,” “nature” an “idea” or some other higher power. We all must worship someone or something. It’s ingrained in our DNA.

I hope your blog does well.
